Initial information, at around 12:00 on October 13, at Km4+100 of provincial road 172, through village 8, Viet Hong commune, Lao Cai province, a serious traffic accident occurred.
At that time, the sleeper bus with license plate 21H-017.xx (carrying more than 20 people) was traveling in the direction of Viet Cuong - Minh Phu when it suddenly lost control and crashed into a positive slope on the side of the road.
The strong collision caused the front of the car to deform, many passengers panicked and called for help. People living near the scene quickly assisted and helped the authorities get the victims out.
The accident left 3 people dead on the spot, 5 others injured and taken to the emergency room immediately.
At the scene, the front of the vehicle was deformed, gasoline and oil spilled onto the road.



Upon receiving the report, Lieutenant Colonel Dang Tran Hoang - Head of the Traffic Police Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police - was directly present at the scene, directing rescue work, coordinating with local authorities and medical forces to take the victims to the emergency room, while directing traffic and regulating traffic to avoid congestion.
The authorities conducted a quick test of the driver's alcohol and drug concentration, the results were all negative.


According to initial determination, the cause of the accident was that the passenger bus lost control while entering a curved road, leading to a fall into the positive slope.
The accident is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
