In which, the sections over bridges and tunnels have 4 complete lanes, the main road has 2 lanes. The investor also cleared the land according to the scale of 4 complete lanes.
The total investment of the project is over 14,100 billion VND under the PPP form, of which the state budget accounts for 69%. Up to now, the project's site clearance has reached 93.6%, with the section through Cao Bang province reaching 99% and the section through Lang Son province reaching 90%.
The two provinces are unanimous in striving to hand over 100% of the project site by the end of December.
In phase 1, the starting point of the project is at the Tan Thanh border gate intersection (Van Lang district, Lang Son) and the end point is at the intersection with National Highway 3 in Chi Thao commune (Quang Hoa district, Cao Bang).
It is expected that this expressway will be completed in 2026. Together with the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang expressway under construction, when the project is completed, the travel time from Hanoi to Cao Bang Non Nuoc Global Geopark will be shortened to only about 3 hours and 45 minutes instead of 6 hours as at present.
