In order to prevent the situation of homemade vehicles and trailers that pose a potential risk of traffic unsafety, Road Traffic Police Team No. 9 (CSGT) - Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police has strengthened patrols and inspections on many roads in the area of O Dien and Dan Phuong communes, resolutely handling violations.
Especially on the morning of April 1st, functional forces organized patrols on provincial roads, inter-village and inter-commune roads.
A noteworthy point is that task forces use specialized motorbikes to move flexibly, penetrating deep into small roads and residential areas, thereby promptly detecting violating vehicles.
Through inspection, many self-made vehicles clearly revealed unsafe risks when not ensuring technical conditions, without registration and inspection, while carrying bulky goods such as iron and steel, and construction materials.

During the midday patrol on the same day, the traffic police force continued to discover many self-made tractors welded with additional iron frames to expand cargo boxes.
Overloading and bulky transportation not only causes danger to road users but also poses a risk of accidents at any time. Violating vehicles are handled and confiscated, and vehicle owners are mobilized to dismantle and destroy them themselves.
Statistics in March 2026 show that Road Traffic Police Team No. 9 has handled 13 cases of self-made three-wheeled vehicles, including confiscating 4 vehicles and mobilizing the dismantling of 9 vehicles. In addition, dozens of other self-made vehicles such as three-wheeled, four-wheeled vehicles, tractors, and trailers have also been recalled or mobilized for dismantling.

Major Pham Van Luyen - Head of Road Traffic Police Team No. 9 said that in the O Dien and Dan Phuong areas, many households use homemade vehicles to serve production and business.
Over the past time, functional forces have regularly propagated and mobilized people to abandon vehicles banned from circulation, contributing to ensuring traffic safety and environmental sanitation.
In fact, there are many cases where even though they have been reminded, they still intentionally violate. For example, driver N.D. C (born 1972) was fined more than 1 million VND for driving a self-made vehicle carrying dozens of iron bars more than 10m long in a crowded residential area. This person said that he clearly understands the regulations, but still carries goods according to the vehicle owner's request.
Some other drivers also shared that in rural areas with many small alleys, trucks have difficulty accessing construction sites, so they are forced to use three-wheeled vehicles and tractors to transport goods.

In the coming time, Road Traffic Police Team No. 9 will continue to maintain patrols and inspections, and at the same time promote propaganda to raise people's awareness, coordinate with local authorities to resolutely eliminate self-made vehicles, contributing to maintaining traffic order and safety in the area.
