On December 26, the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission confirmed that from December 12, 2024 to December 25, 2024, the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission held its 41st and 42nd meetings.
At the meeting, the inspection was reviewed and concluded when there were signs of violations against the Provincial Informatics Center Party Cell (now the Provincial Electronic Information Portal) under the Party Committee of the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province.
The Party Cell of the Provincial Information Technology Center for the 2017-2020; 2020-2022 term had shortcomings and violations such as not organizing regular Party cell meetings in full, not performing leadership functions well, lacking inspection and supervision to prevent cadres and Party members from violating the law. The main and direct responsibility for the above shortcomings and violations lies with the Party Cell Executive Committee. The shortcomings and violations of the Party Cell and the Party Cell Executive Committee of the Provincial Information Technology Center are serious enough to require inspection and consideration of responsibility.
Regarding the shortcomings and violations of the Party Cell, the Party Committee has shortcomings and violations of Mr. Le Chau Long - Deputy Chief of Office of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, former Party Cell Secretary, Director of the Information Technology Center - with the responsibility as the head of the Party Cell.
Mr. Le Chau Long also violated regulations on management and use of computer networks and was prosecuted by the Security Investigation Agency. Mr. Le Chau Long's shortcomings and violations were serious, causing negative public opinion, affecting the reputation of the Party organization and Party members to the point that disciplinary action must be considered and taken.
Previously, at the end of August 2024, Quang Nam Provincial Police executed an arrest warrant for Mr. Le Chau Long and other defendants. Through investigation, Quang Nam Provincial Police determined that from 2019 to 2024, Mr. Long and other defendants took advantage of being assigned to manage websites of state agencies and the education sector to insert advertising links and illegally collect advertising fees. These advertising links redirect to betting, gambling, and illegal gambling advertising sites online.
