On February 23, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province said that it had directed the implementation of law enforcement work on handling administrative violations in the field of seafood.
Khanh Hoa province directs relevant agencies to inspect, review, proactively implement the Central's instructions and report the implementation results to the Provincial People's Committee before March 4, 2025 on handling administrative violations in the fisheries sector.
The above policy is set out to meet practical requirements, minimize administrative violations of illegal seafood exploitation, and implement the goal of removing the European Commission (EC) "Y yellow card" warning, aiming to build a sustainable and effective fisheries sector.
Accordingly, Khanh Hoa will implement handling of administrative violations in the fisheries sector, handling administrative violations related to illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Regularly compile difficulties and problems related to combating IUU fishing; proactively issue opinions according to authority or give advice and propose to competent authorities to have a direction for handling legal regulations on handling administrative violations, especially regulations on combating IUU fishing that are not suitable and do not ensure feasibility.
At the same time, coordinate with functional forces to investigate, verify, and handle fishing vessels violating illegal fishing, fishing vessels violating journey monitoring equipment in accordance with regulations, and not to let violations go unnoticed.
