On May 7, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province issued a decision to sanction administrative violations in the field of environmental protection against Vinaca be Hoa Joint Stock Company (headquartered at Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, An Binh Ward, Bien Hoa City) due to not having an environmental license as prescribed for a facility subject to an environmental license under the licensing authority of the Provincial People's Committee.
The fine is 320 million VND, the additional penalty is to suspend the operation of the source of waste without an environmental license of the facility for 4.5 months; remedial measures forcing the facility to relocate to a location in accordance with the planning, environmental zoning, and environmental load-bearing capacity approved by competent authorities.
The implementation period is before December 1, 2025 (according to the roadmap set out in Decision No. 324/QD-UBND dated February 5, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on approving the project to convert Bien Hoa Industrial Park 1 into an urban - commercial - service area and improve the environment).
Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park is the oldest industrial park in Vietnam, established in 1963 under the name Bien Hoa Industrial Park. After 1975, Bien Hoa Industrial Park changed its name to Bien Hoa Industrial Park 1.
