Information from Sin Cheu Commune Police, at around 9:30 a.m. on August 7, the inter-commune road in Mao Sao Chai village, about 200m from the headquarters of Sin Cheu Commune People's Committee, Lao Cai province, suddenly subsided into a hole up to 4m deep, causing local traffic congestion here.
The sinkhole is about 4m deep, around the mouth of the asphalt road surface, cracked, inside the sinkhole there is a deep subsidence permeating the road, posing a potential risk of further subsidence.
Immediately after discovering the incident, the Order Police Team under Sin Che Commune Police coordinated with the Commune Economic - Infrastructure Department to conduct a field survey and stretch warning ropes, block off dangerous areas to ensure safety for people and vehicles.

The initial cause may be due to prolonged heavy rain causing local geological changes, weak soil structure leading to road surface collapse.
It is known that the geology of Sin Che commune is limestone, often with many sinkholes, especially during the long rainy and stormy season.
The local government is coordinating with specialized agencies and functional agencies to propose a plan to handle the sinkhole early and clear the road in the shortest time.
