Mr. Bui Nhu Loc - Vice Chairman of Hai Dinh Commune People's Committee said that due to heavy rains, O O Lau River water has flooded many young rice areas in the commune.
On the night of 8.2 and 9.2, O Lau River water flooded the fields, so all day and night, must mobilize people to go to the dyke.
“People use the sacks to pour the soil, then apply the dyke from 10 to 20 cm high to prevent water from overflowing into the field. At the same time, mobilizing all pumps to suck water, but 560 hectares of young rice are still flooded ” - Mr. Loc said.
By the afternoon of October 10, thanks to the embankment of the river to prevent the river from overflowing into the field, using 23 continuous pumps, Hai Dinh commune saved 100 hectares of rice. If the weather is favorable, by about 12.2 will save about 400 hectares of rice. About 60 hectares of rice and 20 hectares of crops will lose white due to deeply flooded.
Mr. Duong Viet Hai - Vice Chairman of Hai Lang District People's Committee informed that heavy rains caused 2,747 hectares of rice in Hai Lang district, until the afternoon of 10.2, it was 853 ha.The locality has coordinated with cooperatives and people to deploy rice rescue measures, if it does not rain, the next 3 days will spend, but still seriously damaged.
