The Director of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang has just signed and issued an Official Dispatch announcing the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 in the education sector.
Accordingly, on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025, civil servants and employees will have 9 consecutive days off from Thursday, January 25, 2025 to Sunday, February 2, 2025 (December 26, Giap Thin year to January 5, At Ty year).
Students and trainees of kindergartens, general schools, and continuing education centers will have 14 consecutive days off from Monday, January 20, 2025 to Sunday, February 2, 2025 (from December 21, Giap Thin year to January 5, At Ty year).
Previously, a series of provinces and cities such as Ha Tinh, Tay Ninh, Quang Ninh, Gia Lai, Ho Chi Minh City, Tra Vinh, Binh Phuoc, Lao Cai, Yen Bai,... announced detailed schedules for the 2025 Lunar New Year holidays. Currently, Hanoi has no specific instructions on the Lunar New Year holiday schedule for 2025. The schedule of holidays and Tet holidays during the school year is implemented according to the provisions of the 2019 Labor Code and annual guidance documents.
Some private schools have proactively developed their own school year schedules. At Marie Curie School (Hanoi), according to the school year plan that has been announced to parents from primary, secondary and high school, students in the whole school will have 10 days off for Tet from January 23 to February 1. According to the schedule, students will have an additional Sunday off, making it 11 days.
Or according to the latest announcement from Lomonosov Primary School, Lomonosov Secondary School and Lomonosov High School, the Lunar New Year holiday schedule of these two schools is from January 22 to February 2, 2025, that is, from December 23 to the 5th day of Tet. Students will return to school on Monday, February 3, 2025 (the 6th day of Tet). The total Tet holiday is 12 days.
