Traffic police guide 4 steps to pay fines

Xuyên Đông |

Traffic police of Bac Giang province instruct people not to go to the place where they were caught violating traffic laws but can pay the fine at their place of residence.

The steps to pay the fine are as follows:

Step 1: Determine the vehicle owner's residence

Basis for determination: Based on the vehicle owner's address on the Vehicle Registration Certificate to determine the vehicle owner's place of residence.

Note:

In case the vehicle owner has moved his/her residence but has not changed the information on the Vehicle Registration Certificate, the vehicle owner's residence when paying the fine will be calculated according to the information on the vehicle registration.

For example: Car with license plate 98A-000.xx, address on Vehicle Registration is Tran Phu Ward, Bac Giang City, then go to Bac Giang City Police to pay the fine.

Step 2: Violators need to prepare documents

Notice of violation;

Vehicle registration certificate; Certificate of technical safety and environmental protection inspection (for cars); Valid certificate of civil liability insurance of the motor vehicle owner (of the violating vehicle).

Driver's license; Citizen identification card (of the offender).

Note: Make a photocopy of the above documents to keep at the police station (except for violation notices which do not need to be photocopied).

Step 3: View the violation image and sign the report

Based on the appointment time for settlement on the Notice, the vehicle owner and driver shall go to the District Police where the vehicle owner resides to complete the fine payment procedures.

Violators are shown images of the violation and notified of penalties for their violations.

After identifying the vehicle driver, the traffic police will ask the violating vehicle driver to report the violation; make a record of the administrative violation according to regulations, and set a date to receive the penalty decision.

Step 4: Receive penalty decision and pay fine.

On the appointment date, the violator receives the Penalty Decision at the police agency (workplace in step 3).

Violators shall pay fines according to regulations. Violators may pay fines at the State Treasury or banks authorized by the State Treasury to collect fines or pay fines on the National Public Service Portal at http://dichvucong.gov.vn.

Note: In case the vehicle owner does not cooperate with the authorities, does not prove or does not explain to identify the vehicle driver, he/she will be responsible for the violation according to the Notice of administrative violation of road traffic order and safety (stipulated in Clause 8, Article 80 of Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP of the Government, amended and supplemented in Decree No. 123/2021/ND-CP of the Government).
