On the morning of May 16, Cau Giay Park (Hanoi) was more bustling than usual when Green Transformation Day 2026, organized by Lao Dong Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Hanoi People's Committee, officially took place.
Amidst a series of exciting activities, the "gasoline to electricity exchange" area has become a hot spot attracting a large number of people.
Many people go for exercise, take a walk in the park, or even just accidentally stop by out of curiosity, but then the word "try to see" becomes "buy real".

Mr. Pham Quoc Vinh (73 years old, Cau Giay ward, Hanoi) is a very typical example.
Initially, he only came to consult. The family is still riding an old Dream motorbike and also intends to change cars, but has not decided yet.
Then, after directly test driving the electric car, listening to advice on the program to support the collection of old gasoline cars, he finalized it so quickly that he himself was surprised.
My family is riding a Dream, before asking to sell it for about 12 million VND. After trying it out, I found it very interesting, so I booked an electric car," Mr. Vinh said with a smile.
Not stopping there, he immediately ran home to call his wife to come to the place to see the car, test drive and then prepare to pay. One morning of going to see for fun suddenly became the day of changing cars for the whole family.

Not only Hanoi people, Ms. Mai Thi Nham (68 years old), who came to Hanoi from Ho Chi Minh City to play, also could not hide her excitement.
Walking across the park, Ms. Nham felt like she was lost in the "electric vehicle world" with all kinds of eye-catching designs and easy-to-reach prices.
From the sightseeing spot, she started listening to advice very carefully, planning to buy one to travel a few months in Hanoi and then bring it back to Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Mr. Pham Viet Trung, Deputy Managing Director of HBM Vietnam Joint Stock Company, people can bring old gasoline cars to participate in the "assistance consulting for gasoline and electricity exchange" program with the following steps:
Step 1: Condition check: Confirm old vehicle ownership and valid legal documents (Vehicle registration)
Step 2: Vehicle valuation: Representatives of VinFast appraise the status and agree on the purchase price of gasoline vehicles.
Step 3: Sign commitment: Car owners sign a green conversion commitment to activate benefits.
Step 4: Apply incentives: Directly deduct 5% of the preferential value from the listed price of electric vehicles.
Step 5: Complete handover: Pay the remaining difference and receive a new electric vehicle. People can receive the vehicle immediately at the event or can receive the vehicle after the event at VinFast Thu Anh's facility.
Mr. Pham Viet Trung informed that people participating in the Green Transformation Day 2026 event will enjoy preferential programs:
Green conversion: 6% reduction in cars and registration fee exemption (equivalent to 2%).
Gasoline fee for electricity exchange: Additional 5% discount for customers switching from gasoline to electric vehicles at the event.
Car purchase gifts: Voucher 200,000 - 300,000 VND depending on the car line (can be applied directly) and helmet/raincoat/water tank.
It can be said that from walking in the park, asking to know, many people have made a new decision: saying goodbye to gasoline cars, getting acquainted with electric cars.
And sometimes, the green transition journey begins very simply like that: drive around, feel compatible... then go home and call your wife right away.
In order to promote the green transformation process and effectively implement the Party's Resolution, Lao Dong Newspaper coordinates with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Hanoi City People's Committee to organize Green Transformation Day 2026 with the theme "Green Transformation - Driving Force for Vietnam's new growth model".
This event is a continuation of the success of the Green Transformation Day 2025 series of events, contributing to spreading the spirit of green action, promoting innovation and creating momentum for sustainable growth for the country.

Green Transformation Day 2026 with the theme "Green Transformation - Driving Force for Vietnam's New Growth Model" takes place from 8:00 AM on May 16, 2026 at Cau Giay Park (Hanoi).
In the context of increasingly complex climate change, sustainable development and green growth are becoming an inevitable trend for many countries around the world. Vietnam is in a period of rapid development, but also facing the challenge of increasing greenhouse gas emissions.
At the COP26 Conference, Vietnam pledged to aim for a net zero emissions target by 2050, contributing to the international community in controlling global temperature increases not exceeding 1.5 degrees Celsius under the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
This orientation continues to be affirmed in the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, which emphasizes the establishment of a new growth model based on improving the productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness of the economy; taking science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as the main driving forces; and at the same time promoting the development of the digital economy, green economy, circular economy, promoting digital transformation, green transformation and energy transformation.
