Accordingly, Ford has just issued 4 recalls, affecting a total of 394,466 Ford and Lincoln brand cars in the US.
This includes a total of 295,449 diesel-powered Super Duty pickups. According to the recall, biodiesel residues build up on the drive rollers, causing the high-pressure fuel pumps in these vehicles to not function properly.
Ford said the affected vehicles are Super Duty versions of the 2020-2022 F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 and F-600 pickup trucks, along with the 2021-2022 F-650 and F-750 pickup trucks. The American automaker also said that the company will fix the problem by updating the powertrain control module software, which will be performed free of charge at the nearest dealer.
The recall also covers 47,818 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus vehicles because the power windows do not stop when they detect an obstruction. Ford said the issue will be fixed free of charge by recalibrating the door module on both the driver and passenger sides.
A total of 30,715 2019 Ford Flex, Ford Fiesta, and Lincoln MKT vehicles are affected by a rearview camera issue that causes the cameras to display distorted images or a black screen instead of showing a rear view.
Neither Ford nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has been able to come up with a solution to the problem.
Additionally, this recall affects 20,484 2020-2024 Ford Escapes and 2021-2024 Lincoln Corsairs due to a problem with the high-voltage battery cells. Specifically, a potential manufacturing defect could cause a short circuit, causing the battery to fail.
Ford said a software update to the battery power control module is required. In some cases, the battery packs in affected Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair vehicles will be replaced free of charge.
The automaker will also contact affected owners soon with instructions on how to schedule repairs. All repairs will be performed free of charge by Ford.
