Motorcycle company surpasses 2 million sales in 2024

According to data from the Vietnam Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (VAMM), more than 2.65 million motorbikes will be sold in Vietnam in 2024.

According to VAMM, Vietnamese people will buy 2,653,607 motorbikes in 2024. This is equivalent to 5 motorbikes sold per minute.

However, the above figures still do not fully reflect the number of new motorbikes consumed. Meanwhile, in the market, many companies have not or have not published sales figures such as: VinFast, Yadea, Dat Bike or motorcycle brands such as Ducati, BMW Motorrad, Triumph...

In terms of market share, Honda continues to dominate the market when selling with 2,147,025 vehicles (accounting for nearly 81% of the total market share). Honda's advantage is that it owns a diverse product line, a large dealer system and a vehicle design suitable for many different customer groups.

The motorbike sales of VAMM members (including Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, SYM and Piaggio) in the past 5 years have fluctuated erratically. In 2022, the organization's sales were more than 3 million units, equivalent to the years with the highest car sales in 2018 (3.3 million units); 2019 (3.2 million units).

In recent years, VinFast has dominated the electric motorbike segment, followed by the appearance of rival car company Yadea. In the most recent release of sales figures, VinFast said it had sold 72,469 electric motorbikes in 2023. Compared to VAMM's sales, VinFast's sales are nearly 3%.
