The M9 will be distributed through the MG Select high-end store system. In fact, the MG M9 is an electric MPV rebranded from the Maxus Mifa 9 and has been sold in some international markets such as Singapore, Australia and the Philippines. Because MG and Maxus are both sub-brands of SAIC, they still sell products on the same platform, only with different names depending on the market.
The M9 is equipped with a second row of seats with two separate electric seats, covered in brown leather and with massage function. A 3-zone air conditioning system and a touch-screen infotainment system with electric sliding doors, folding tables for passengers in the second row of seats and many other features. This new MPV also has a panoramic sunroof or glass roof.
The MG M9 is equipped with a 90 kWh battery that provides a range of about 580 km. However, in the international market, this model is only available in black or pearl white.
With an 11 kWh charger, the M9 takes around 8.5 hours to charge from 5% to 100%. DC fast charging is also supported and takes just 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. The 90 kWh battery powers an electric motor that produces 241 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.
According to Cartoq, the MG M9 will compete with cars like the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire. The M9 could offer many of the same features as the Vellfire but at a significantly lower price.
MG is expected to sell the M9 for around 6,000,000 - 6,500,000 rupees (around 1 billion 773 million - 1 billion 920 million VND). Meanwhile, the Toyota Vellfire model in India is priced from 142,000 USD (around 3 billion 602 million VND).
