At this car show, Toyota introduced a series of concept cars and appeared for the first time outside the Japanese market. Of which, the FT-3e Concept was first announced at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show in October 2023.
According to the company, the FT-3e electric car has a capacity of 5 people with dimensions of 4,860 mm x 1,955 mm x 1,595 mm (length x width x height), with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. This model is built on a Toyota electric vehicle platform, similar to the Lexus LF-ZC and FT-Se EV electric sports cars.
Participating in the FT-3e is the Land Cruiser SE model. The Land Cruiser SE has a traditional SUV design and was also launched at Japan Mobility 2023. The difference between these two models is the use of a monocoque body instead of the traditional separate chassis structure of previous Land Cruiser models. However, the car still retains the familiar 3-row seat configuration.
At the exhibition, among the hydrogen-powered models is the Hilux FCEV - a double-cabin pickup truck with a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain. The Hilux FCEV is inspired by Toyota's Mirai line.
The Hilux FCEV has 3 hydrogen tanks located under the passenger cabin and the fuel cell is located in the engine compartment. The generated power will be transmitted to the motor mounted on the rear axle. In addition, the car also has a cross-sectional model placed in the exhibition area.
Finally, the company brought to the exhibition the Kayoibako concept model - an electric commercial van with a flexible interior. The Kayoibako model has dimensions of 3,990 mm x 1,790 mm x 1,855 mm (length x width x height), with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. According to the company, the name Kayoibako comes from the term for containers that can be customized to minimize waste and suit different needs.
