According to information from the dealer system, Mazda Vietnam started receiving Mazda MX-5 orders from February 5. This is a rare time a two-seater roadster model with a manual transmission option has been returned to the domestic official distribution list.
The Mazda MX-5 was first launched in 1989, also known as Miata in some markets. This model was developed according to a philosophy focused on driving feel, light weight and front-engine layout, rear-wheel drive. To date, more than 1.2 million MX-5s have been sold worldwide.
In Vietnam, Mazda MX-5 previously mainly appeared through private import units, including the RF hardtop version and some older generations. Genuine distribution helps this model reach domestic users according to unified standards of configuration and equipment.
Mazda MX-5 has overall dimensions of 3.915 mm long, 1.735 mm wide and 1.240 mm high, wheelbase reaches 2.310 mm. The car uses a two-seater configuration, rear-wheel drive, aiming for balance between weight and body control.
The 2.0-liter gasoline engine on the Mazda MX-5 produces a maximum power of 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 205 Nm. The suspension system includes a dual swingarm in the front and a multi-link in the rear, supporting flexible handling on asphalt roads.
In terms of equipment, Mazda MX-5 uses LED lighting system, an 8.8-inch central screen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car is equipped with basic safety features such as anti-lock braking system, electronic balance, cruise control, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning and front and rear braking assist.
Mazda MX-5 is considered a car line with a relatively narrow user base in Vietnam, suitable for users who prioritize driving experience and mechanical elements rather than daily multi-purpose needs.
