Mr. Vu Chi Hung, Deputy Director of the Tax Department (Ministry of Finance) has just signed a decision on allocating the number of cars for general work to each unit under the Tax Department.
Accordingly, the allocation details are as follows:
According to the above decision, the total number of vehicles allocated is 768. The unit with the most vehicles is Ho Chi Minh City Tax, which is 103 vehicles.
The Tax Department stipulates that the number of allocated cars is the maximum limit for the number of cars for general work; the unit uses them as a basis for planning and estimating the budget for purchasing, arranging, managing and using cars at the unit.
On June 15, 2025, the Government issued Decree 153/2025/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 72/2023/ND-CP stipulating standards and norms for the use of cars; including amending the subjects allowed to use cars for general work.
According to the new regulations, from July 1, 2025, subjects allowed to use public cars for general work include:
Positions and positions with a position allowance coefficient or salary higher than the position of Director, Director and equivalent but not eligible to use a car for the position specified in Articles 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Decree 72/2023.
Director, Director and equivalent; Deputy Director, Deputy Director and equivalent.
Vice Chairman of the People's Council, Vice Chairman of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities (except for Hanoi City and Ho Chi Minh City).
Director, Deputy Director of the department and equivalent at the provincial level.
Heads and Deputy Heads of agencies and units under or directly under departments, units and equivalent organizations (not public service units) are organized vertically located in provincial or inter-provincial or municipal levels.
Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council, Chairman of the People's Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the commune level; Deputy Secretary, Vice Chairman of the People's Council, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the commune level.
Member (member) of the Board of Members, Board of Directors, Deputy General Director of the Economic Group; Chairman of the Company, Director, Deputy Director and equivalent positions at state-owned enterprises.
Cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers assigned to perform specific professional tasks are stipulated in the Regulations on Management and Use of Public Assets of agencies, organizations, and units.
Automobiles serving general work are automobiles with one bridge or two bridges, with a seating capacity of 4 to 16 seats (including pickup trucks) to serve the general work of agencies, organizations, and units (including units under or directly under agencies, organizations, and units), state-owned enterprises, not on the list of specialized automobiles specified in Article 16 of Decree 153/2025.
