As of November 26, the police have imposed fines on many cases of running red lights. Notably, among these were passenger cars that were fined in Hanoi.
The Traffic Police Department said that from 12:00 on November 25, 2025 to 12:00 on November 26, through extracting data from AI cameras piloted in Hanoi's inner city (intersection of Pham Van Bach - Hoang Quan Chi streets), many cases of non-compliance with traffic light signals - running red lights have been automatically detected, including buses, passenger cars, and cars. According to statistics from Dong Nai traffic police, from October 1 to November 10, the whole province recorded 29 violations, and 100% were violations of not obeying traffic light signals.
Compared to the first 10 days of October 2025 (45 violations), the number of violations decreased by 16 cases. Compared to the last 10 days of October-December 2025, the number of violations also decreased by 15.

People should note that the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order, Decree 168/2024/ND-CP stipulating administrative sanctions for violations of road traffic safety and order; deduction of points, restoration of driving license points take effect from January 1, 2025.
Accordingly, some violations of road traffic safety order have increased fines compared to before, such as drivers running red lights being fined 18-20 million VND (old level was 4-6 million VND). Motorbikes running red lights will be fined from 4 to 6 million VND.
