According to information from Vietnam Railways Corporation to ensure order and safety and improve the effectiveness of accident prevention, the camera surveillance system at level crossings and railway crossings is currently operating continuously 24/24 hours to record traffic conditions as well as detect violations.
Over the past time, through this automatic monitoring system along with reflections from the people, functional forces have received a total of 181 violations, successfully handled 119 cases and collected a total fine of up to 617.5 million VND.
Vietnam Railways Corporation emphasized that acts such as not complying with level crossing warning signals, overtaking barriers when signals are already working, intentionally crossing the railway when trains are about to arrive, stopping and parking vehicles in a safe area or infringing on the railway traffic safety corridor will be clearly recorded by cameras.
These image data are continuously extracted to serve verification and remote fines in accordance with the law. The railway management agency affirmed that the surveillance camera system operates not for the purpose of punishing, but the core goal is to raise awareness of law compliance, prevent violations and protect human lives.
After a period of time, functional forces resolutely directly punish in combination with modern monitoring technology, the situation of violations at railway level crossings nationwide has decreased significantly.
People's awareness has been clearly raised, contributing to ensuring safety for traffic participants and the community. To maintain this result, functional agencies request traffic participants to continue to raise awareness, absolutely comply with the signal system and guidance of the regulating force, and at the same time actively act as "magic eyes" of the level crossing by recording and taking photos of violations and sending them to the VNeTraffic application to build a civilized and safe traffic environment.
