The Ministry of Construction informs the traffic plan for this area as follows: vehicles are allowed to exploit the route from the North connecting with the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Component Project (route about Km568+200) to the South connecting with the Bung - Van Ninh Component Project (route about Km625+000), about 55.34km long and passing through 2/2 intersections. Including: Tien Chau - Van Hoa intersection (route about Km597+900), QL12A intersection (route about Km 605+500).
The rest stop is at Km594+400 (arranged on both sides of the highway). The Ministry of Construction has selected an investor for the rest stop in March 2025. Currently, the investor is organizing the construction of the rest stop according to regulations.
In addition, the Ministry of Construction is also directing Project Management Board 6 to urgently complete the remaining items of the Vung Ang - Bung Component Project, including: service road system; ITS and other works.
The Ministry of Construction said that on August 19, 2025, Project Management Board 6 - Ministry of Construction organized the technical opening of the Vung Ang - Bung Component Project under the North - South Expressway Construction Project in the East phase 2021 - 2025.
This project started in January 2023, and the main route has been basically completed. The project starts at Km658+200, in Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province (now Ky Hoa commune, Ha Tinh province) connecting with the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang component project. The end point is about Km 624+228.79 in Cu Nam commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province (now Bo Trach commune, Quang Tri province) connecting the Bung - Van Ninh Component Project.
Of which, there are 02 interconnecting intersections including: Tien Chau - Van Hoa intersection (route about Km 597+900), QL12A intersection (route about Km605+500). The section is about 55.34 km long.
Scale, technical standards: The completed phase is a grade 100 expressway, according to TCVN 5729:2012 standard "High-speed automobile road - Design requirements".
The 4-lane subdivision phase, roadbed width 17m, geometric factors (measurement, vertical gauge) meet the standards of a 100% expressway, the scale of 4 lanes according to TCCS 42:2022/TCDBVN standards "High-speed cars - Design and traffic organization in the construction investment subdivision phase", design speed 80km/h.
The project passes through Ky Anh district, Ky Anh town, Quang Trach district, Ba Don town, Bo Trach district of the old Quang Binh province (now Ky Hoa commune, Ha Tinh province and the communes/wards: Phu Trach, Hoa Trach, Trung Thuan, Quang Trach, Tan Gianh, Ba Don, Nam Ba Don, Nam Gianh, Bac Trach, Bo Trach of Quang Tri province). Total investment of the project: VND 12,548 billion.
