According to information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Ministry of Public Security, from 12:00 on December 6, 2025 to 12:00 on December 7, 2025, the pilot AI camera system in Hanoi recorded a series of violations of traffic safety order, notably, the situation of non-compliance with traffic lights is still common.
Accordingly, at the Pham Van Bach - Hoang Quan Chi intersection (Cau Giay ward), the AI camera automatically detected 703 cases of running red lights in just 24 hours.
This is a figure showing that the awareness of traffic law compliance of a part of traffic participants is still limited, posing a high risk of leading to accidents.

In addition, on Le Van Luong Street, the AI camera also recorded 8 cases of driving in the wrong lane. All data of the violation has been transferred to Hanoi City Police and functional units for verification and handling in accordance with regulations.
On the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway, at km20, the AI camera system records the average speed of vehicles at 70 km/h. At the same time, two cases of not wearing seat belts were discovered.
Notably, the AI camera did not detect any cases of using a mobile phone while controlling the vehicle during the above time frame.
The implementation of the AI camera system is expected to contribute to improving monitoring efficiency, gradually forming awareness of law compliance of traffic participants, towards building a safe and civilized traffic environment.
According to information from the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, the Traffic Control Center of this unit has been invested in upgrading phase 2.
It is expected that by December 10, 2025, a system of 1,837 cameras and a lighting system using artificial intelligence (AI) will be operated, automatic control according to traffic data.
