On February 23, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Cam Van Huy - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Nhai District, Son La Province - said that the People's Committee of the district has just decided to recover funds for illegal spending according to Decree 76 of the Government, related to policies for cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and armed forces working in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions.
Accordingly, the total amount of funds recovered is more than 639 million VND, of which 625 million VND is spent on education and training.
Accordingly, Chieng Khoang Primary and Secondary School received 27.5 million VND; Chieng Khay Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities received 50.9 million VND; Chieng Khay Primary and Secondary School received more than 48 million VND; Muong Sai Primary and Secondary School received over 112 million VND; Ca Nang Kindergarten received 75.9 million VND; La Gion Primary and Secondary School received 41 million VND; Chieng On Primary and Secondary School received 213 million VND; Muong Gion Kindergarten received 55.8 million VND.
Along with that, the amount of money spent on Nam Es Commune People's Committee was recovered at 14.5 million VND.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Cam Van Huy said: "Immediately after discovering the mistake, we reviewed the amount of money spent and requested a recovery, in the spirit of frankly acknowledging the shortcomings to overcome and correct them."
Also according to the leader of the People's Committee of Quynh Nhai district, for cadres, civil servants and public employees currently working, the recovered amount will be deducted from the monthly salary.
For retired subjects, the district will balance the appropriate form of recovery.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper received feedback from many teachers in Quynh Nhai district about the unfairness in paying allowances to teachers in remote areas.
Accordingly, although working in the same area, some teachers receive the regime, while others do not.
Even many high school teachers in the area have received this amount of money a long time ago, but teachers from preschool to junior high school in Quynh Nhai have not received it.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Son La - said that according to Decision No. 275 dated March 7, 2018 of the Government, Quynh Nhai district is one of the districts that escaped poverty in the period of 2018 - 2020.
However, Decree No. 76 on policies for cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and armed forces working in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions took effect from December 1, 2019. Thus, many teachers in Quynh Nhai are not eligible for the regime under this Decree.
Regarding the proposal related to teachers in the same area but only a few are entitled to a one-time subsidy when leaving the socio-economic disadvantage zone, while other groups are not, Mr. Tinh informed that the Department of Home Affairs will propose reviewing the beneficiaries to ensure the implementation of the regime and policies in a unified manner in the area, ensuring fairness and compliance with the law.
