For the Can Tho City Oncology Hospital Project (scale of 500 beds, Nguyen Van Cu street), according to reporters' records, currently, the construction site's appearance has changed positively. Unlike the previous wild and quiet appearance, the project campus has been cleared and cleaned up. Behind the main building, workers are deploying basic renovation items, showing that the construction pace is gradually being restored.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Hoang (Vinh Long province) expressed: "I am very happy with the recent positive information. I am waiting every day for the hospital to be put into operation, not only for us but also for the next generation.

Regarding the Project, on the afternoon of December 31, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Quoc Cuong - Director of Can Tho City Department of Health - said that the city has completed procedures to restart a 500-bed hospital on Nguyen Van Cu street and hopes the Project will be inaugurated in 2026.
Mr. Cuong said that Can Tho City is oriented to build the Can Tho City Oncology Hospital facility on Nguyen Van Cu street into a quality cancer hospital, towards building a smart hospital. Recently, the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee directed to build a housing area for cancer patients, because the actual demand is very large.
Behind Nguyen Van Cu facility, there is still about 2ha of land. To build this area, in the near future, the department proposes that the hospital develop a project to build a high-quality cancer screening area, targeting conditional customers" - Mr. Cuong said.

Setting a longer-term goal for Can Tho City Oncology Hospital, the City Department of Health also aims to build a high-tech radiation therapy area, currently considered the highest in the world - which is to use proton radiation therapy machines that Vietnam still does not have.
It is known that up to this point, Can Tho City Oncology Hospital has 3 medical examination and treatment facilities, of which Facility 3 Phong Dien has just officially received patients from January 1, 2026. Phase 1, the scale of this facility is 120 beds, phase 2 is expected to expand to 400 beds.

Thus, after the headquarters of Can Tho City Oncology Hospital are completed, there will be a scale of 1,200 beds serving cancer patients in the Mekong Delta.
