On June 9, Nghe An Department of Health issued Document No. 2340/SYT-NVY requesting medical examination and treatment facilities and the provincial Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism to strengthen control of medical service information posted on social networks, avoiding misunderstanding for people.
According to the Nghe An Department of Health, there are currently many false advertisements on social networks related to medical examination and treatment, exaggeration of uses, and the evanglization of treatment methods, especially advertisements promising to cure chronic diseases, affecting the reputation of the health sector and public health.
Many cases also promote unlicensed services, using images of doctors and medical staff to create false trust.
Faced with this situation, the Department of Health requested the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism to direct local press and media agencies to step up propaganda, instruct people to choose reputable, transparent medical facilities with operating licenses and certified advertising content.
At the same time, medical examination and treatment facilities when posting information on platforms such as Facebook, Zalo, YouTube, website... must clearly state the name of the facility, address and license number issued by the Department of Health or the Ministry of Health.
The Department of Health also emphasized that only advertising content that has been confirmed by competent authorities according to the provisions of the Law on Advertising and the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment is allowed to be posted. Violations will be strictly handled. Directors and heads of medical facilities are fully responsible before the law for the advertising content of their units.
