On April 8, Vinh Long General Hospital said it had operated on patient A.T.M (103 years old, residing in Phuoc Hau ward) - a special case due to old age and many complex medical conditions.
According to her family, one day before being hospitalized, she fell while living at home. After the accident, the patient had swelling, pain, bleeding in the head area, pain in the groin and right thigh, limited movement, so she was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Through examination, the doctor diagnosed a metacarpal fracture of the right femur, accompanied by many high-risk underlying diseases such as hypertension, chronic ischémic heart disease, severe mitral and tricuspid valve regurgitation, pulmonary hypertension - increasing the risk of cardiovascular complications during and after surgery.
