On the afternoon of December 15, the Hue City Department of Health held a conference to hand over Health Stations from Health Centers to the People's Committees of communes and wards for direct management.
According to the decision signed by Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Khac Toan, from December 16, 2025, 40 Health Stations in the city will be officially transferred to the People's Committees of communes and wards for management.
The Hue City Department of Health said that the Politburo has issued Resolution 72-NQ/TW with the requirement to create a breakthrough in the work of protecting, caring for and improving people's health, thereby setting higher requirements for the grassroots health system. The Resolution determines that Health Stations need to be synchronously strengthened in terms of organizational structure, human resources, facilities and professional capacity, towards a model of continuous health care for people throughout life.
In the new period, Commune and Ward Health Stations not only take on the role of initial medical examination and treatment but also become a focal point for community health management, proactively preventing and controlling epidemics and accompanying people in comprehensive health care. Improving the capacity of the Health Station is considered an important foundation for grassroots health care and the entire health system to operate effectively, especially in the face of the challenge of population aging, increased non-communicable diseases and the risk of new epidemics.

Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Kiem Hao, Director of the Hue City Department of Health, affirmed that this handover is not simply an administrative arrangement but a fundamental transformation in the grassroots health management model, creating a premise for innovation of the operations of Health Stations, focusing on service quality, satisfaction and people's trust.
According to the Director of the Hue City Department of Health, in the past, despite many difficulties, Commune and Ward Health Stations have always been the front line force, undertaking many important tasks such as initial medical examination and treatment, expanded immunization, non-communicable disease management, maternal and child health care and disease prevention and control.
The leader of the Hue City Department of Health said that after completing the handover, the Department of Health and the Medical Centers will continue to perform the role of professional management, guidance, supervision and professional inspection; at the same time, coordinate with local authorities in training, human resource development, implementing health programs, investing and gradually upgrading facilities and equipment.
With the participation of the People's Committees of communes and wards and the sense of responsibility of health workers, the Health Station system in Hue City is expected to operate more effectively, increasingly better meeting the health care needs of the people.
