On December 5, the People's Committee of Xuyen Moc district announced that the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has just issued a decision approving the short-term planning project of the new Ho Tram urban area until 2030 and the long-term planning project until 2045.
The planning area has an area of about 5,067.7 hectares, which is the current administrative boundary of Phuoc Thuan commune, Xuyen Moc district. The planning area is oriented to include 6 main functional sub-areas including: Ho Tram urban center area with an area of about 325 hectares, population of about 24,300 people. The tourism development area has an area of about 824 hectares, population of about 3,000 people.
The urbanized village area is about 459 hectares, with a population of about 8,200 people. The protective forest area is about 918.98 hectares. The special-use forest area (Binh Chau - Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve) is about 1,570.52 hectares. The agricultural production area is about 970.2 hectares.
The goal of the planning is to specify the strategic orientations of the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and the provincial urban development program. Thereby, building and developing the urban area in a synchronous and sustainable direction, becoming an administrative center; an important area in the corridor for the development of high-quality economic services, trade, and tourism adapting to climate change; creating a suitable living environment, harmonizing the functions of production, services, tourism, and natural landscapes; protecting the environment, ensuring national security and defense.
In the future, this place will become a coastal tourist city of the region; become an economic, service and tourism center, with important national defense significance.
