Reporting at the 24th session of the 10th Da Nang City People's Council, term 2021-2026, Director of the Da Nang City Department of Construction Nguyen Ha Nam said that currently, the housing demand of cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, laborers, and low-income people in Da Nang city is very large, especially after the merger of Quang Nam province and Da Nang city.
According to the Project "Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing units for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021-2030", the Government has assigned Da Nang city to complete 12,800 apartments in the period of 2021-2030; in the period of 2021-2024, 3,445 apartments have been completed (reaching a rate of 26.9% of the target, the highest among the 6 centrally-run cities), in 2025, it is expected to continue to complete 1,807 apartments. In the above Project, the Government also assigned Quang Nam province to complete 19,600 apartments.
Thus, in the period of 2026 - 2031, Da Nang City (after the merger) must complete at least 27,148 units. This is a very large number, requiring focused investment in social housing development to ensure the targets assigned by the Government.
Regarding land allocation, Mr. Nam said that after adjusting the General Planning of Da Nang City to 2030, with a vision to 2045, the city has implemented a review and establishment of zoning plans, including reviewing and supplementing land funds for social housing construction, especially locations near industrial parks and high-tech parks. To date, 9 urban subdivision projects and 3 functional area construction subdivision planning projects have been approved.
At this session, the City People's Committee also submitted to the City People's Council to approve the content of the adjustment of the City Housing Development Program for the period 2021-2030. In which, there is content approving the list of areas expected to develop social housing with 69 land plots with 152 hectares, ensuring the demand for land fund for developing social housing under the Program for the period 2021-2030 is 83 hectares and the following years.
Of the 69 plots of land above with 152 hectares, 27 plots of land have been cleared with 47.2 hectares (including: 11 plots of land with projects, 16 plots of land without projects).
In 2025, it is expected to implement 15 projects with 10,239 apartments. To implement the completion of these projects, Da Nang City will ensure the completion of the target according to the Government's 1 million apartment project (in the 2025-2030 period, it is still necessary to complete: 9,355 apartments).
In addition, the city is continuing to urge investors to implement the construction of social housing projects at the 20% land fund of commercial housing projects with about 3,000 apartments, and will add more social housing funds for the period 2026 - 2030 and the next phase.
