According to the report of the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Son La province, Mai Son Industrial Park, Chieng Mung commune has a total planned area of 150 hectares, currently implementing phase I with an area of 63.7 hectares with 8 valid projects and a total investment capital of about 1,272 billion VND.
Up to now, the occupancy rate has reached 60%, basic technical infrastructure items have reached 85 - 92% of the volume.
For the Instant Grain and Dried Fruit Factory Project of VFI Investment Production and Trading Joint Stock Company, about 80% of the volume has been completed, equipment is being installed, striving to have a trial run on September 15, 2025.
In addition, the BHL Son La bien waste starch processing factory project has also completed the main structure, the auxiliary systems are being urgently completed, expected to be inaugurated at the end of September 2025.
Notably, the Mavin Mai Son Livestock and Agricultural Products Processing Factory Complex Project is completing land allocation procedures, expected to start construction on August 19, 2025.
However, Mai Son Industrial Park still has some difficulties and problems that have lasted for many years. Up to now, there are still nearly 18 hectares of land from 2008 that have not been cleared due to lack of resettlement land fund.
In addition, the valuation of water supply, infrastructure services, and environmental licensing for industrial parks is still slow, affecting the overall progress. The road to the industrial park has also degraded and needs to be upgraded and repaired soon.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong - Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee said that Mai Son Industrial Park is a key project in the province's industrial development strategy.
"We are determined to resolutely remove existing obstacles, especially regarding site clearance and environmental and land procedures. The province has also directed the proposal to build a 110kV transformer station to ensure a stable power source for the industrial park, striving to basically complete the infrastructure by September 2025 to attract more investors" - Mr. Cong said.
