Hanoi - As of 3:00 p.m. this afternoon (October 8), the whole city still has 13 deeply flooded locations, and drivers cannot travel.

On the afternoon of October 8, a representative of the Hanoi Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board said that as of 3:00 p.m., there were a total of 62 flooded locations in Hanoi, of which 49 were still flooded and 13 were deeply flooded and unable to circulate.

Also according to the representative of the Hanoi Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board, the unit has assigned leaders and staff of the Standing Board to monitor and grasp the situation, proactively resolve traffic infrastructure incidents arising in Hanoi due to the impact of storm No. 11 ( Matmo), and at the same time direct units to manage and maintain road systems, inland waterways, railway crossings and traffic lights to prepare human resources, vehicles, and materials to promptly deploy plans to ensure traffic safety, handle and overcome infrastructure incidents, and organize traffic.

The representative of the Hanoi Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board also said that due to the impact of storm No. 11 and prolonged heavy rain, the Maintenance Board has detected and handled 16 incidents related to road traffic infrastructure and 2 incidents of broken trees falling onto the road.

The Road Maintenance Board has directed contractors for road management and maintenance to continue to inspect and promptly handle incidents to ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles. At the same time, notify the Traffic VOV Canal to help traffic participants choose a suitable route.

The Road Maintenance Board also directed road management contractors to continuously monitor and send people on duty to guide traffic flow and fully put up warning signs at flooded locations. At the same time, notify the media to guide drivers to move smoothly and ensure traffic safety.
