On April 1, information from Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang has just signed and issued a Decision regulating the arrangement of temporary housing and housing rent support for households whose residential land is recovered to implement the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Project.
This regulation aims to concretize the content of Resolution No. 66. 8/2025/NQ-CP of the Government on separating compensation, support and resettlement into an independent project in the overall nuclear power project that has been approved for investment policy by the National Assembly.
According to new regulations, households eligible for resettlement while waiting for new accommodation will be able to choose one of two forms: temporary housing arrangement or receiving housing rent support.
Specifically, if the locality has a resettlement housing fund, social housing or commercial housing, people will be considered for temporary housing arrangement. For households with a maximum of 4 members, 1 house is arranged; households with more than 4 people are arranged with 1 additional house.
In case there is no housing fund or people need to take care of their own accommodation, they will be supported with house rent at a basic level of 5 million VND/household/month, households with more than 4 people will be added 10% of the support level for each additional household.
Also according to the above decision, the support time is calculated from the time of land handover. If resettlement is by land, it will be supported until receiving land plus 6 months to build a house; if resettlement is by house, it will be supported until receiving a house. In case the odd time is over 15 days, it will be rounded to 1 month.
Regarding the progress of compensation and resettlement for the two Ninh Thuan 1 and 2 Nuclear Power Plant projects, in March 2026, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee will have a meeting to accelerate progress.
According to a report by the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the compensation, support and resettlement work for the Ninh Thuan 1 project has a recovered area of more than 449ha, affecting 835 cases. Up to now, compensation has been approved for 154 cases, with a total cost of more than 168.2 billion VND; 571 graves need to be relocated, expected to be completed in March 2026.
Ninh Thuan 2 project, with a recovered area of about 318.8ha, has inventoried 534 households; 516 households have had their plans listed, and 120 households have received advance payments of more than 109.3 billion VND.
