On November 18, Mr. Nguyen Le Huy - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - chaired a meeting to listen to the Department of Construction report on the progress of housing development projects in the old Thai Binh City.
According to the report, at the housing development project in the residential area of Dong Hoa commune (Tra Ly ward), the work of clearing agricultural land has reached 27.8/34.4 ha (80.8%), all 309 households with residential land and interspersed land have been counted.
The Department of Construction is finalizing a land price determination plan to submit for compensation approval. Some current difficulties include lack of resettlement land funds and some households have not received compensation.
For the housing development project in the new urban area in Tan Binh commune and Tien Phong ward (Thai Binh ward), the work of site clearance for agricultural land has reached nearly 99%. All 88 households have price certificates to establish and post compensation plans; the remaining 11 households are being reviewed for their scope of impact.
The project has encountered problems in treating leftover waste at the old waste treatment plant, relocating businesses in Phong Phu industrial cluster and arranging waste transit locations.

In the Kien Giang new urban area project (belonging to Tran Lam, Vu Phuc, Tran Hung Dao wards), localities have agreed on the land users of 1,453/1,526 households, counted the assets of 1,231 households and posted compensation plans for 1,068 households. The wards are completing the plan and arranging resettlement for the remaining 73 households.
At the meeting, leaders of departments, branches, localities and investors focused on discussing progress, assessing difficulties, problems and discussing solutions to resolve them.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Nguyen Le Huy acknowledged the difficulties that the units are facing, and at the same time suggested solutions for each group of problems, requiring focus on timely resolution to ensure progress and quality of the project, put the project into use soon, and promote investment efficiency.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that departments, branches, investors and local authorities need to strengthen coordination, promote propaganda about the purpose and significance of residential area and social housing projects; fully and properly implement the compensation, support, resettlement and site clearance procedures. In particular, the investor will immediately go where the site is handed over.
For investors, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested to fully prepare financial resources, human resources, machinery and equipment as soon as the site is handed over, strictly comply with commitments on time and implementation roadmap, contributing to speeding up progress and improving the efficiency of housing development projects in the province.
