As the industrial capital of the Northern midland mountainous region, Thai Nguyen has a large number of workers coming to live and work. To solve the problem of housing for low-income people, social housing projects are gradually taking shape.
In Thai Nguyen City, the social housing project in Tich Luong Ward started construction in March 2024, with a scale of 11.3 hectares. The total investment for phase 1 is 300 billion VND, including 11 buildings with 5 to 10 floors.
It is expected that after completion, 700 houses will be provided to workers in industrial parks and clusters in the area.

In Pho Yen City, the Dai Thang Social Housing Project - Residential Area started construction in April 2024. The project is over 11 hectares wide, of which nearly 1 hectare is reserved for the construction of social housing with 34 2-storey townhouses, 1 18-storey apartment building with 361 apartments. The area of each apartment ranges from 26.7m2 to 70m2, with 1 to 3 rooms.
The total investment of the project is more than 700 billion VND, meeting the housing needs of 800 low-income people and workers.
The project is located right at the gateway to Pho Yen city, close to the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway. About 400m from the construction site are factories and industrial clusters with thousands of workers.


According to PV on March 23, workers and machinery are being mobilized to carry out the construction. The 18-storey apartment building has basically completed the rough construction and is undergoing roofing. Adjacent houses are also under construction. Some auxiliary items such as trees and electricity and water are gradually being completed.
According to the investor, the expected selling price of social housing is about more than 13 million VND/m2. In particular, the policy of purchasing social housing in the project and loan conditions are applied according to Government regulations. Residents receive preferential policies such as a lending interest rate of 4.8% per year. The maximum loan amount is 80% of the house value, the maximum loan term is 25 years.
From Bac Kan to Thai Nguyen to start a business, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai (Yen Binh Industrial Park Worker) said that the couple is currently renting a room. Current accommodation is not guaranteed, hot in summer, cold in winter. For many years, I have not dared to dream of having a house to settle down and make a living.

"When there are social housing projects, workers are very happy and motivated. According to the issued policy, the price of each apartment will fluctuate around 350 - 950 million VND, very suitable for the income of workers.
With more loans with preferential interest rates and extended periods, I am somewhat reassured. My wife and I will save and borrow to buy a house, bring our young child from the countryside to live and work here," Ms. Hoai confided.
On March 23, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Vu Hai Bac - Chairman of the Pho Yen City Labor Federation said that the social housing project being implemented in Pho Yen City has great significance, especially being implemented close to industrial parks and clusters.
"When I came into contact with the workers, they were very excited about these projects. This will be an opportunity for workers and low-income people to have stable housing and work with peace of mind.
As expected, the social housing project in Pho Yen City will be completed in the fourth quarter. 2025", Mr. Bac added.
