Hanoi City People's Committee has just submitted a report to Hanoi City People's Council on the approval of the master plan of Hanoi Capital with a 100-year vision.
According to the content of the submission, the Red River Landscape Avenue is a central green space axis associated with creative culture along the Red River, a socio-economic development axis and a symbol of Hanoi "Culture - Identity - Creativity", a new symbol of a civilized and modern Capital.
The submission stated: The vast majority of opinions strongly opposed "option 2" of the Red River Landscape Avenue Axis project (clearance of 2.100 ha, relocation of hundreds of thousands of people).
People believe that demolishing existing residential areas to build commercial complexes and apartments is depriving the living environment and livelihoods.
People support "option 1", which is to build roads close to the riverbank, combined with renovating and embellishing existing residential areas on the spot to have both beautiful landscapes and peace for the people.
The areas that spoke out most strongly included Hong Ha, Tu Lien, Nhat Tan, Bo De (Phu Vien), Hai Boi, Bac Cau, Dong Cao wards. People affirmed that their houses were built legally and solidly, and it is unacceptable to push them into resettlement areas or cramped apartments.
The project to invest in the construction of the Red River Landscape Avenue has a scope of implementation along the Red River, from Hong Ha bridge to Me So bridge, belonging to the administrative boundaries of 19 communes and wards of Hanoi.
In which, the right side of Hong passes through 12 communes and wards including: O Dien, Thuong Cat, Dong Ngac, Phu Thuong, Hong Ha, Vinh Tuy, Vinh Hung, Linh Nam, Hoang Mai, Thanh Tri, Nam Phu, Hong Van. The left side of Hong passes through 7 communes and wards including: Me Linh, Thien Loc, Vinh Thanh, Dong Anh, Bo De, Long Bien, Bat Trang.
The project implementation area is about 11,000ha, including a traffic avenue about 80km long; a system of landscape parks, entertainment with an area of about 3,300ha; and a site clearance area for urban reconstruction of about 2,100ha.
