According to the People's Committee of Soc Trang province, Phu My Industrial - Urban - Service Park is one of the key projects under the Soc Trang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister.
The project is planned according to the multi-industry industrial park model, in which priority is given to attracting the fields of automobile manufacturing, assembly and machinery and tools. The total expected area is 1,500 hectares, including 1,125 hectares of land for industrial parks and 375 hectares for urban - service areas. The project implementation area is in Dai Tam commune (My Xuyen district), Phu My commune (My Tu district), An Ninh commune (Chau Thanh district) and Ward 10 (Soc Trang city).
The Management Board of Industrial Parks of Soc Trang province said that from July 1-10, it will organize the preparation and approval of the Planning tasks. From August 11.7- 30, the overall plan will be prepared, announced and approved. It is expected to select infrastructure investors from September 31 to 15.
According to Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Lau, investing in construction and putting into operation Phu My Industrial Park - Urban - Services is a necessary step, of great significance in creating jobs and increasing income for people. At the same time, the project will contribute to improving competitiveness, attracting investment and promoting the socio-economic development of the province in the coming time.
Previously, in early April, Soc Trang province inaugurated the Xay Da B Industrial Cluster Industrial Infrastructure Construction Investment Project in Chau Thanh district, with a scale of 53.9 hectares. This is the first industrial cluster in Soc Trang province with 100% FDI capital. Here, it focuses on industries such as: food processing, food; agriculture, aquaculture, seafood; export production; mechanics, electronics; garment; printing, weaving, dyeing... It is expected to create jobs for about 10,000 workers.
Soc Trang province is also preparing to inaugurate Tran De Industrial Park, with a scale of 160 hectares. This is a multi-industry industrial park, mainly including light, clean, and less polluted industrial sectors such as: agricultural, forestry and fishery processing; food and beverage production; shipbuilding and repair; manufacturing electronic components, computers, automobiles and industrial equipment.
