The groundbreaking ceremony for the Olympic Sports Urban Area Construction Investment Project will be held on December 19, in Thuong Phuc Commune (Hanoi).
According to the records on the afternoon of December 16, preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony are being urgently deployed by relevant units.
The location of the groundbreaking ceremony is on a land area of nearly 10 hectares that has been leveled. The two theaters that hosted the event were installed at this location to serve the groundbreaking ceremony.
Speaking to Lao Dong on December 16, Mr. Ta Huu Tho - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Thuong Phuc Commune (Hanoi) - said that the commune being chosen as the starting location for the Olympic Sports Urban Area Project is an honor of the locality and the people in the area.
To successfully organize the important event, Mr. Tho said that the entire political system of the commune has stepped in and coordinated with relevant units to carry out the tasks.
The commune has assigned specific and detailed tasks to each subcommittee, each group, each group and each field with the highest spirit and responsibility. In particular, ensuring security and safety for the event is given top priority.
Regarding site clearance, Mr. Ta Huu Tho said that on December 5, the local government handed over nearly 10 hectares of the original site (the starting location) to Vingroup Corporation to level and create a flat surface.
Mr. Tho emphasized that the site clearance work was implemented by the locality "quickly". In just 5 days (from the evening of November 30 to the morning of December 5), the commune has completed the land acquisition and site clearance for 52 related households.
"Detecting this as an important task, the departments and offices of the commune immediately started working with a high level of concentration. At first, the households were still very concerned, however, when the officials mobilized and persuaded them, the people understood the meaning and importance of the project, so they agreed to hand over the site" - Mr. Tho said.
In the immediate future, households whose land is recovered will be paid temporary support funds. The locality has also completed the steps according to Resolution 258 of the National Assembly on specific mechanisms, allowing the implementation of procedures and documents within 6 months.
"We have applied this in the document and received the consensus and support of the people" - Mr. Tho said.
The Secretary of the Party Committee of Thuong Phuc Commune assessed that when completed, the Olympic Sports Urban Area Project will not only contribute to expanding development space, creating a modern urban appearance for the capital, but is also expected to become a driving force for socio-economic growth of the city.
For Thuong Phuc commune alone, the project will open up great opportunities to shift the economic structure, improve the quality of infrastructure, and gradually improve people's lives.
The Olympic Sports Urban Area Project is implemented in 11 communes with a scale of 9,171 hectares, organized into 4 component projects according to functional subdivisions.
Sub-area A develops new urban areas according to the TOD (compressed urban area) model, playing the role of traffic hub, connecting and supporting the sports complex located in sub-area B.
Sub-area B is the center of the sports urban area and the service urban area, associated with the International-class Trong Dong Sports Complex and Stadium. This subdivision includes a sub-project with an initial independent component of a sports complex parking lot, serving the project's commencement.
Zone C and Zone D continue to develop sports urban areas, service urban areas associated with large-scale sports facilities, creating a seamless space for training, competition, event organization and service activities.
The total preliminary investment of the project is 925,651 billion VND. According to the plan, the Sports Complex and Stadium will be completed in the second quarter of 2030; the entire project is expected to be completed in 2035.
