According to Section 3, Chapter VII of the 2024 Land Law, regulations on property damage compensation, investment costs in land include:
- Compensation for damage to houses, houses, and construction works attached to land when the State recovers land is specified in Article 102 of the 2024 Land Law.
- Compensation for crops as prescribed in Article 103 of the 2024 Land Law.
- Compensation for asset relocation costs when the State recovers land is stipulated in Article 104 of the 2024 Land Law.
- In case of not being compensated for assets attached to land when the State recovers land according to the provisions of Article 105 of the 2024 Land Law.
- Compensation for damage to land belonging to the safety protection corridor of works, protection areas, safety belts when building works, areas with safety protection corridors according to Article 106 of the 2024 Land Law.
- Compensation for remaining investment costs in land when the State recovers land for national defense and security purposes; socio-economic development for national and public interests according to Article 107 of the 2024 Land Law.
In addition, according to the provisions of Article 108 of the 2024 Land Law, state support when recovering land includes:
- Support for stabilizing life;
- Supporting stable production and business;
- Supporting the relocation of livestock;
- Supporting training, career change and job search;
- Resettlement support for cases specified in Clause 8, Article 111 of the 2024 Land Law;
- Support for dismantling, demolition, and relocation according to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 105 of the 2024 Land Law.
Current law does not stipulate compensation for labor when the State recovers agricultural land. However, during the land recovery process, households and individuals may receive support to stabilize their lives and production, helping to minimize the negative impacts caused by land loss.
Accordingly, people can be supported to change careers, find new jobs, or receive support for moving livestock and dismantling assets, thereby indirectly compensating for some of the labor efforts spent throughout the land use process.
