On August 12, according to the Dong Nai Province Construction Investment Project Management Board, to build the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway through the province, Dong Nai will reclaim, compensate, and clear more than 1,000 hectares of land with more than 2,100 households and organizations affected.
According to preliminary statistics, there are more than 1,000 households in the project area eligible for resettlement. To resettle households, Dong Nai province will build 6 resettlement areas in the communes of Bu Dang, Dong Tam, Tan Loi and Binh Phuoc and Chon Thanh wards.
The total area of resettlement areas serving the project is more than 26 hectares, the expected number of resettlement plots of resettlement plots is more than 990 plots.
The Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway project has a route length of about 124 km passing through Lam Dong and Dong Nai provinces. Of which, the section through Dong Nai is more than 101 km long.
The project is divided into 5 component projects. In which, component projects 1 is the construction of Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway (investment in the form of PPP); component project 3 is the construction of service roads and overpasses across expressways in Dong Nai province; component project 5 of compensation, support and resettlement in Dong Nai province will be implemented by Dong Nai province.
According to the decision approving the project adjustment, Component Project 5 has a total investment of nearly 4,000 billion VND.
The implementation period is from 2024, basically completed in 2026 and put into operation in 2027.
As of early August 2025, the provincial authorities have issued a notice of land reclamation for more than 2,100 plots of land out of a total of about 3,700 plots of land in the project implementation area.
After issuing the notice of land reclamation, the authorities have inventoried houses, structures, and crops on the land.
