ĐÌNH TRỌNG |

Binh Phuoc - The province broke ground on the construction of 124km of Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway. The expressway will be a strong driving force to help socio-economic development.

On April 29, the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province held a groundbreaking ceremony for component project 1 - investment in the construction of the North - South expressway in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section.

The expressway project has a total length of about 124km. Of which, the section through Dak R'lap district, Dak Nong province is about 23km long, the section through Binh Phuoc province is about 101km long.

The project is planned to have a scale of 6 lanes, with a design speed of 120 km/h. In the first phase, the project is invested with a scale of 4 complete expressway lanes, with a roadbed width of 24.75m. The section through Dong Xoai city is 25.5m wide (expanding the median strip to arrange the lighting system).

The total investment of the project is VND 19,965 billion, of which state capital is VND 6,842 billion, which is the source of increased central budget revenue in 2022.

The capital mobilized by the investor is about VND 12,134 billion (excluding interest of VND 989 billion). The project implementation period is from 2025 to 2027.

Ms. Tran Tue Hien - Chairman of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee said that Binh Phuoc has a lot of potential and opportunities for development. However, for many years, Binh Phuoc has been a province with a very modest economic scale in the Southeast region and the whole country.

The bottleneck of regional traffic infrastructure is one of the reasons pointed out and the expressway has been the desire of many generations of leaders as well as the people of Binh Phuoc.

"The Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway project is of special importance. The route plays a role as a strategic connecting axis, closely linking Binh Phuoc, Dak Nong provinces and many other localities in the Southeast and Central Highlands.

The formation of the expressway not only expands development space, creating new growth momentum for both regions, but also effectively exploits land potential; promotes the development of tourism, processing industry, mineral exploitation industry and other key economic sectors..." - Ms. Tran Tue Hien said.
