Component 4 project of Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway exceeds total investment

Dak Nong - Component project 4 of Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway is facing difficulties due to the total investment increasing to 917.4 billion VND.

Dak Nong province is actively implementing the Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) Expressway Project. This project is part of the North-South Expressway in the West.

The Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway project has a total length of more than 124km. Of which, the project passes through Dak Nong province for 23.1km and Binh Phuoc province for 99km.

The project was approved by the National Assembly in the investment policy in Resolution No. 138/2024/QH15, dated June 28, 2024. Accordingly, the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway has a total investment of VND 25,540 billion, divided into 5 component projects.

In which, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee is the managing agency of component project 2 (investment in the construction of service roads and overpasses across the province) and component project 4 (compensation and resettlement support for the section through the province).

On April 28, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for component project 2 with a total investment of 338 billion VND from the local budget.

Currently, Dak Nong is implementing component project 4, with a total investment of 662 billion VND from the local budget.

However, component project 4 is facing difficulties due to the total investment exceeding about VND 917.4 billion. Thus, compared to the initial approval, the project was increased by about 255.4 billion VND.

In 2025, the project was allocated 217.5 billion VND from the local budget. As of April 30, 2025, the project has not yet disbursed.

Currently, the People's Committee of Dak R'lap district (Dak Nong) - the investor of the above project is coordinating with TEDI South company to review the land area that needs to be cleared for the main route, overpass service road, waste dumps, and depots and heart markers of the project.
