The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just sent an official dispatch to the Department of Foreign Investment - Ministry of Finance on the report on the implementation of the MOU signed in the working session of the Prime Minister in Korea in July 2024.
Regarding the project of the Southeast New Urban Area of Bac Ninh City, through the working process, up to now, the Department of Construction of Bac Ninh province has provided the Korea Real Estate Corporation (LH Group) with full information on the socio-economic situation of the locality; the approved general planning of Bac Ninh urban area; the field and list of investment attraction projects of the province; regulations of Vietnamese law on the development of new urban areas... for LH Group to survey, research and participate in project development in Bac Ninh according to the provisions of Vietnamese law.
Currently, LH Group is in the process of completing the dossier to apply for approval of the investment policy for the Dong Nam New Urban Area project.
Previously, within the framework of the Prime Minister's official visit and working session in Korea on July 1, 2024, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with LH Group on Urban Development in the Southeast region of Bac Ninh city, Bac Ninh province, continuing the Urban Growth Trade Program on the basis of cooperation between the Vietnamese and Korean Governments.
On July 16, 2024, the working delegation of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea, led by Minister Park Sang Woo, visited and worked in Bac Ninh province to discuss the potential for cooperation in the field of urban development, especially the New Urban Area Project in the Southeast of Bac Ninh City.
On June 18, 2025, a delegation of LH Group led by Mr. Lee Han Joon, General Director, visited and worked in Bac Ninh to promote cooperation between the Group and Bac Ninh province in developing the Southeast Urban Area of Bac Ninh City.
At the above meeting, Mr. Lee Han Joon said that the new urban area project in the Southeast of Bac Ninh City has a scale of more than 1,500 hectares.
This is the first project that this group has implemented in Vietnam.
Mr. Lee Han Joon added that the urban area project will focus on experienced experts to become an icon of Vietnam and the world.
Bac Ninh is one of the industrial capitals in the North, concentrating a series of FDI giants in the fields of technology equipment manufacturing, electronics, and semiconductors.
In recent years, Bac Ninh has also become the destination of a series of large investors in the real estate sector.
Currently, 7 new urban area projects with a total investment of nearly 105,000 billion VND are being accelerated in this locality.
Transport infrastructure in Bac Ninh is changing strongly. Gia Binh Airport in Bac Ninh province was just started at the end of last year.
The Prime Minister agreed to upgrade the construction of Gia Binh airport to international scale, from level 3C to level 4E.
Hanoi City has also agreed on the plan to build a nearly 50km, 120m wide road connecting Gia Binh airport with the center of the capital.
