Starting construction of 3 resettlement areas
Quang Tri province has just simultaneously started 3 resettlement projects to serve the site clearance of the North-South high-speed railway. The projects are implemented in Ba Don ward, Quang Trach commune and Dong Son ward, with the goal of creating a stable residential land fund with synchronous infrastructure, meeting the housing needs of hundreds of affected households.
The North-South high-speed railway project is a national key infrastructure project, of strategic stature, creating a breakthrough in transportation and socio-economic development.
On August 21, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Chairman of Dong Son Ward People's Committee (Quang Tri Province) Doan Hong Quan said that the North-South high-speed railway line through Dong Son Ward is more than 9km long, directly affecting more than 500 households. The locality identifies this as both a political task, a responsibility and an honor.
According to Mr. Quan, the province has assigned Dong Son ward to be the investor of the resettlement project, with 2 areas carefully selected, ensuring the lives of people after relocation. The total area is over 21 hectares, with a total investment of about 376 billion VND. In area 1 alone, construction started on August 21, with an area of about 13.5 hectares, resettling 125 households.
We hope that this place will not only be a new place to live, but also a spacious, modern residential area, connected with synchronous infrastructure, creating momentum for urban development for Dong Son and the whole Quang Tri province, Mr. Quan emphasized.
Ensuring legitimate rights for people
Mr. Quan added that immediately after the province's direction, the ward has focused highly, coordinating with consulting units and departments to speed up the investment preparation progress. In just over a month, all legal procedures, surveys, and location selection have been completed, qualified to start construction on schedule. This is a great effort of the entire political system of Dong Son ward.
In the coming time, the ward government is committed to mobilizing all resources, closely coordinating with relevant agencies, ensuring progress, quality and absolute safety during the construction process. Our point of view is to listen and fully absorb the opinions of the people, ensuring that all legal rights are exercised promptly, Mr. Quan affirmed.
Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province, highly appreciated the proactive and creative spirit of the People's Committee of Dong Son ward. Although it has only officially operated under the 2-level local government model since July 1, the ward has shown determination and capacity in completing a large amount of work in a short time.
Mr. Thang suggested that Dong Son ward continue to implement the next steps of the project in accordance with regulations, publicly and transparently, creating consensus among the people. At the same time, relevant departments and branches must accompany in removing difficulties and providing professional guidance so that the project can be implemented on schedule and with quality.
We believe that with the drastic participation of the government and the support of the people, the resettlement work will be successful, contributing to the successful implementation of the high-speed railway project, important infrastructure works, and enhancing the strategic position of Quang Tri, Mr. Thang emphasized.
