According to British media, striker Son Heung-min is the target of Saudi Arabia teams this summer. The Korean striker has been in demand since the beginning of 2023.
Son currently has one more year on his contract with Spurs. He signed an extension in January 2025, remaining with the team until the end of the 2025-2026 season. According to The Sun, the 32-year-old wants to stay at Tottenham, but uncertainty about coach Ange Postecoglou's future could convince Son.
Tottenham are said to be ready to listen to the offers. A large transfer fee for Son could help the club bring in other new players.
Clubs in the Saudi Pro League are still trying to recruit stars from Europe, in order to attract spectators to watch the tournament. In early 2025, Al Nassr offered to buy Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma. Teams from the Middle East have also approached a few names such as Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz or Victor Osimhen in recent transfers.
Son is considered one of the symbols of Korean football. Possessing this striker could help the Saudi Pro League welcome a new audience.
Son was a mainstay of Tottenham, but this season, his form has declined with only 11 goals in all competitions. Along with the decline of many other players, Spurs are only 17th in the Premier League. But they still have a ticket to the Champions League thanks to the Europa League championship.
Since joining the club 10 years ago, Son has made 454 appearances for Spurs, the 7th most in the club's history. He has scored a total of 173 goals and had 101 assists.
