On the afternoon of October 8, at De Nhat Hotel (Tan Son Nhat Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), VietFootball Joint Stock Company (VietFootball) held a draw to arrange the competition schedule and hold a technical meeting for the 2025 Hyundai Thanh Cong Cup National 7-a-side Football Cup (VSC-S5) in the Southern region.
VSC-S5 in the Southern region in 2025 will gather 16 clubs, divided into 4 groups. The teams will compete in a round robin to calculate ranking points, thereby selecting the top 2 teams in each group to compete in the knockout round. The three teams with the highest results will represent VSC-S5 in the Southern region to participate in the national finals.
The groups include: MyMyFC, Bamboo FC, Hong Lac FC, SUNSEA FC (Group A); Lottery Dak Lak, An Bien FC, Kady - The Thao Si, STPFood (Group B); Phan Kha Construction, Nghiem Pham Holdings, Betong 26 Gia Lai, Phuc Khang FC (Group C); Hoang Nong FC, Thep Viet Thang, Nam Dong cafe, ICORN FC (Group D).
Notably, in this year's tournament, many teams from remote localities have also registered to participate in VSC-S5 in Ho Chi Minh City, creating a worth-watching season when the teams all have careful preparation and their own unique identities. These include a few names such as Betong 26 Gia Lai, Nam Dong Cafe (from Gia Lai), Xanh Phan Kha (from Dong Thap), XSKT Dak Lak (from Dak Lak), Hong Lac FC (from Lam Dong)...
Representing the organizing committee, Mr. Tran Huy Duc - Deputy General Director of VietFootball highly appreciated the efforts of the teams in the current difficult context.
"The fact that buyers or businesses are still interested, enthusiastic and continue to invest in 7-a-side football in the context of many difficulties is a great effort. The proof is that VSC-S5 has had the appearance of new clubs.
We appreciate this and will continue to strive to improve professional work, gradually improve the quality of the playground, towards more professionalism and methodization. Another notable point is that some teams from the Central Highlands have come to the Southern region to participate, making the tournament significantly more competitive, Mr. Tran Huy Duc shared.
The opening ceremony and the first match of VSC-S5 in the Southern region took place on the afternoon of October 11 at Gia Dinh Stadium (Binh Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
