Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong) was chosen as the venue for the group stage of the Vietnam women's team at the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship.

On April 23, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) sent a document requesting Hai Phong club to consider hosting a group with the participation of the Vietnam women's team at the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Van Tran Hoan - Chairman of Hai Phong Club confirmed that Lach Tray Stadium will be the venue for the group stage with the participation of the Vietnam women's team. Mr. Van Tran Hoan also said that he will organize the group stage of the Vietnam women's team with the best preparation in terms of facilities.

The tournament, newly named ASEAN MSIG Serenity Cup 2025, is scheduled to take place from August 6 to August 19, gathering 8 women's teams from Southeast Asian countries, including: Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Singapore and Australia.

After the survey, VFF highly appreciated the infrastructure system in Hai Phong, including Lach Tray Stadium, the training ground system at the foot of Rao 2 Bridge (Le Chan District) and functional rooms that met good standards.

Hai Phong has a lot of experience in organizing international tournaments, especially the enthusiasm of the city's football fans. Previously, Lach Tray hosted a friendly match between the Vietnam team and Hong Kong (China) in 2023, the 2025 U20 Asian qualifiers, attracting a large audience to the stadium to cheer.

Right after the end of the 2025 ASEAN Cup for women, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will enter the qualifying round of the 2026 Asian Cup taking place from June 29 to July 5 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho). The Vietnamese women's team fell into Group E, with the participation of the UAE, Guam and Maldives teams.
