Attending the opening ceremony were Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; along with Party and State leaders, leaders of central and local ministries, departments and branches; representatives of the Public Security leaders of units and localities; leaders of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association; the Vietnam Football Federation; Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company and representatives of leaders of accompanying units and enterprises.
In addition, there were the presence of more than 20 Ambassadors and representatives of embassies and diplomatic missions in Vietnam.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security emphasized: "Promoting the spirit of solidarity, honesty and nobility, I believe that the 2025 ASEAN Police and Police Football Tournament will be a great success, giving fans good matches and beautiful goals; leaving a strong impression that deeply demonstrates the solidarity and close and effective cooperation between the police and police forces of countries, to protect the peaceful lives of the people for the peace of the people; continue to affirm that Vietnam is always ready to be a friend, a trusted partner, an active and responsible member of the international community, always striving to make efforts, increase contributions, maintain peace and stability in the region and the world".
Also at the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Minister Luong Tam Quang presented flowers and souvenir flags to 8 Heads of the teams participating in the tournament.
The opening ceremony was elaborately and grandly staged, combining traditional and modern music, imbued with the cultural identity of ASEAN countries.
In particular, the special drum art performance, combining lion, monk, and dragon dance with a strong Vietnamese cultural identity with the theme "Aspiration to shine" - performed by nearly 600 students of the People's Police Academy - Ministry of Public Security.
In addition, the collaboration of singer Dong Hung, Vo Ha Tram, the Oplus band and international artists from 6 countries, performing in many languages but all aimed at the aspiration for a united Southeast Asia for peace.
With the support of units and businesses, the tournament has created an event with a strong impression.

For more than 3 decades, we have always considered accompanying sports, cultural and community activities as our mission".
The 2025 ASEAN Police and Police Open Football Tournament will take place from July 7 to July 15.
The tournament has 8 participating teams, divided into 2 groups. Group A will compete at Hang Day Stadium (Hanoi) including the teams of CAND Vietnam I, Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia. Group B will compete at PVF Stadium (Hung Yen) including the CAND Vietnam II team, Australia, Singapore, Timor Leste.
