On the afternoon of September 1, in Viet Tri (Phu Tho), Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh - Head of the High Performance Sports Department (Department of Physical Education and Sports), President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan and General Secretary of VFF Nguyen Van Phu visited and encouraged the Vietnam U23 National Team in the final preparation stage for the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers.
At the meeting, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized the importance of the upcoming tournament, considering this a door for U23 Vietnam to continue to register for the final round, accumulate experience and improve their skills through competing with the top teams in the continent.
Mr. Tuan also affirmed that the continuous participation of U23 Vietnam in the Asian finals from 2016 to present, especially the miracle of winning the runner-up position in 2018, is a clear demonstration of the careful investment in youth football over the years.
Not only having parallel training sessions with the national team during the FIFA Days, U23 Vietnam was also given the opportunity to compete internationally in China and won the 2025 U23 Southeast Asian Championship in Indonesia, an important stepping stone before the continental tournament.
Aiming for success in the upcoming qualifiers, U23 Vietnam has received great attention from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Physical Education and Sports and the VFF.
VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that with careful preparation, U23 Vietnam is ready to conquer the top spot in Group C in the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers. Notably, playing at home at Viet Tri Stadium is a big advantage, the whole team is determined to achieve favorable results to give to the fans.
After encouraging the U23 team, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan returned to Hanoi to inspect the training work of the national team led by head coach Dinh Hong Vinh, preparing for the matches in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
The spirit of the "Golden Star Warriors" is to strive to the end, never giving up, despite the many difficulties ahead.
