On May 15, the Quang Ngai Provincial Labor Federation informed that the Board of Directors of HD Hyundai Eco Vina Co., Ltd. had just organized an honoring and awarding ceremony for Ms. Luu Thi Mai, a union member with a good initiative in optimizing logistics costs.
Mr. Choi Seung Hyun - General Director of HD Hyundai Eco Vina Co., Ltd. praised and awarded a bonus of 1 million VND to Ms. Luu Thi Mai, a union member working at the Logistics and Customs department of the company.
With breakthrough thinking and proactive research in the working process, Ms. Mai has optimized the transportation process, helping the company save 4,125 USD (equivalent to more than 100 million VND).
Mr. Choi Seung Hyun - General Director of HD Hyundai Eco Vina Co., Ltd. said that Ms. Mai's achievement is not only in the amount of money saved but more importantly in her proactive spirit, daring to change old habits to find the most optimal solution.
This is the core value that the company always wants to spread to all officials, union members, and workers. Each individual, regardless of their position, if they are always concerned and dedicated to the work they are doing and constantly innovate, can contribute practical values to the sustainable development of the business.
Currently, in the context of fluctuations in the transportation market, controlling logistics costs is always a difficult problem for businesses. In the import of a shipment of 35 40-foot containers, instead of following the traditional process of receiving goods at Da Nang port, Ms. Mai took a bold step.
After carefully studying the transport map and geographical location of the factory, she proactively negotiated directly with sea transport units to transfer the port access point from Da Nang to Chu Lai port. Thanks to that, international freight rates were maintained, while the domestic transport distance from the port to the company was significantly shortened.
The total logistics cost for the shipment has decreased from 8,655 USD to 4,531 USD. This is a record decrease of up to 48% in just one shipment. Instead of following the beaten path, Ms. Luu Thi Mai has proven that initiatives do not necessarily have to be macro projects, but sometimes come from dedication to work and constant innovative thinking.
