Accordingly, the Steering Committee for developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions for the term 2025–2030 has 31 members, headed by Mr. Le An Hai - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union.
The Steering Committee has the task of: Directing and urging the Group Trade Union, General Corporation and grassroots trade unions directly under the industry assigned to implement the plan of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union on union member development and establishment of grassroots trade unions in 2026 and for the entire term 2025 - 2030. Regularly monitor, inspect, urge, supervise, and guide units to perform well the assigned tasks; promptly report results at meetings, executive committee meetings, and Standing Committee meetings as a basis for directing, adjusting and orienting to be appropriate and close to actual conditions when implementing.
The Steering Committee is appointed to establish a Working Group, collaborators and recruit cadres and civil servants of the Vietnam General Confederation of Industry and Trade, the Group Trade Union, the Corporation and affiliated grassroots trade unions when necessary; use the seal of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Industry and Trade; and ensure operating expenses according to the regulations of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Internal Expenditure Regulations of the Vietnam General Confederation of Industry and Trade.
The Vietnam Industry and Trade Union has also issued a Plan to develop union members and establish grassroots trade unions in 2026 and for the entire term 2025 - 2030. In which, striving to complete the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union in 2026 to actually develop an increase of 2,000 union members.
