On July 7, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union (ĐLVN) organized an online conference to collect comments on the draft Guidance on the implementation of the Charter of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union. Presiding over the conference was Mr. Uong Quang Huy - Vice Chairman of the ĐLVN Trade Union.
The conference was attended by leaders of professional departments of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union Agency and Trade Union Chairmen of 9 directly affiliated Corporations.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Mr. Uong Quang Huy emphasized that participating in contributing opinions to the draft Guidance on the implementation of the Charter of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union aims to promote democracy, gather the intelligence of trade union officials in the EVN Trade Union system; and at the same time fully reflect the issues arising from the practical operation of the EVN Trade Union to propose to improve regulations, ensuring feasibility when implemented.
At the conference, delegates' opinions focused on exchanging and discussing many new contents in the draft such as regulations on full-time trade union officials; the admission of trade union members who are foreign workers; dossiers, procedures, and processes for admission of union members; regulations on the organization of workers at enterprises; criteria and conditions for establishing directly superior grassroots trade unions and some contents related to the trade union organization model in industries and fields with specific characteristics of dispersing union members nationwide.
The Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union said that the consultation conference is a practical activity, demonstrating the spirit of responsibility, democracy and collective wisdom of Vietnam Electricity Trade Union officials in participating in building and completing important documents of the Vietnam Trade Union organization, contributing to improving the effectiveness of trade union activities in the new period.
